Its
function formed part of the process of Enlightenment
in the XVIII century which Carlos III wished
to involve the artillery in.
The Royal Arms Factory of Eugi occupied a
location of traditional ironworking activity.
A report from the time justifies the choice
of location due to the “wealth of minerals,
the abundance of water and the hard-working
and hardy nature of the local population”.
Its ruins now appear half-concealed amidst
the vegetation. |
